With sites in the Blackpool area, the organisation has state-of-the-art facilities, and they have a very well established IT team which is now seeking 2 new IT technicians to join them.Joining a team of 25, you will benefit from learning from those around you and being upskilled from an IT perspective, but also allowing you to understand the requirements of an IT role in the education sector.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing IT support across the college, supporting both students and staff on a daily basis, ensuring a high level of service and support is provided at all times. As an IT Technician, you will respond to incoming service requests and incidents from end users, ensuring these are resolved in a timely manner and reviewed in order to reduce the risk of repeat incidents.These IT incidents could relate to hardware, software, bespoke systems and technologies in the education sector and also support with security incidents. From a software perspective, this will involve the installing and upgrading of software, as well as working with end users around the use of the software, and you will also liaise with third party providers.
To support hardware, this will involve the ordering and building of new equipment, as well as the installation of new hardware. You will be joining an established team, where you will work as a team to ensure the organisation is fully supported, as well as receiving regular training.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing a position in the organisation, you must possess IT experience working in a first or second line position and will ideally have experience providing IT support in the education sector. It is essential that you do have experience of providing both face to face and end user support, therefore ensuring you have excellent customer service and communication skills.
