Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our busy outpatients team at Royal Glamorgan Hospital - with a requirement to work in Snowdrop Breast Centre, Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Dewi Sant Hospital, as required.

The successful post holder will be required and able to work across our UHB sites.

The main role is to support registered nurses and medical staff in delivery of high standards of care and to assist and support patients through a varied range of investigations and treatments.

The post holder is required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient, and will be supported and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

Main duties of the job

The post will involve caring for patients within a wide range of Specialities including ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery and medicine.

Applicants must be able to work as part of a team and have good communications skills.

The main role is to support registered nurses and medical staff in delivery of high standards of care and to assist and support patients through a varied range of investigations and treatments.

It is desirable but not essential to have outpatients experience.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education to NVQ level 2 in health care
Desirable criteria
  • Good standard of education to GCSE level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of experience in customer care.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare setting.
