Full time hours on a temporary basis- The role of Disability and Wellbeing Consultant has been created to reflect the new processes in place to empower all of our employees. As the lead contact for arranging workplace adjustments (also known as reasonable adjustments), you will be the disability confident expert. Working closely with employees, their managers, partner departments, external services, and organizations, you will support employee wellbeing and coordinate workplace adjustments expediently in compliance with our legal responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively network with internal key stakeholders such as the Disabled Staff Forum, developing effective working relationships and establishing positive lines of communication with a solution-focused approach.
- Oversee an annual program of events to raise awareness of disability and long-term health conditions linked to support for staff and managers.
- Promote values and an inclusive workplace culture, sharing expertise, good practice, and relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Lead logistics and delivery of the process for workplace adjustments, working alongside internal partners such as Health & Safety, Digital Services, and Facilities to establish consistent communication and coordination of resources.
- Lead on individual case management, including investigating and resolving complex cases at the earliest point, preventing escalation of needs, and learning from internal and external cases.
- Triage and coordinate end-to-end support for staff requiring workplace adjustments, including organizing, registering, and governance of equipment allocated to staff.
- Develop improved recruitment and selection policy and guidance ensuring that the process is fair, accessible, and appropriately supports staff with disabilities in applying for roles.
- Make recommendations and support the implementation of improvements to the onboarding process for staff with disabilities.
- Deliver Disability Awareness across the organization, working alongside Learning and Organizational Development to review training offers and support to staff.
- Attain improved levels of disability confident accreditation, working collaboratively with external partners such as the Business Disability Forum to remain up-to-date with disability legislation.
- Create recommendations to improve and support staff mental health and wellbeing, contributing to the Time to Change commitments.
- Lead on the delivery of programs of work to improve staff health and wellbeing.
- Make recommendations to support neuro-diverse colleagues in the workplace.
- Contribute to the Future Work program proposals, making specific recommendations to support staff with disabilities and reviewing plans alongside the Disabled Staff Forum.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative data/feedback from staff and market research to make recommendations for future proposals, ensuring the organization models best practice.
- Upskill managers and colleagues to become more disability aware and confident in having supportive and progressive discussions to ensure staff needs are met and maintain positive relationships.
