Job overview

Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference every day? Mansfield Community Hospital is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our Estates & Facilities team as a Clerical Officer.

As a Clerical Officer, you will play an integral role in the General Office, providing a confidential, friendly, confident, and efficient reception and administration service to patients, members of the public, and colleagues. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering excellent customer service while following all Trust processes and policies.
  • Assisting the Estates PA in providing efficient and effective administrative support.
  • Handling various clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, scheduling meetings using Outlook, and maintaining databases.
  • Responding to internal and external telephone inquiries and ensuring accurate message handling or forwarding.
  • Managing the daily collection, opening, and date-stamping of incoming mail and dealing with outgoing mail efficiently.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of a range of office procedures
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

  • IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office package

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education
  • IT skills to RSA II, NVQ 2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training if required

Experience

  • Previous clerical experience
  • Computer skills including spreadsheets
