Gorton Primary School is part of Vantage CE Academies Trust and is one of 10 schools across Manchester, Trafford, Salford, Bolton and Knowsley.
The Governors and Principal of our school are seeking to appoint an administrator who will also be a welcoming first point of contact for those visiting and contacting the school.
The job holder will work closely with the principal/senior leadership team to ensure that the school’s objectives are supported by an efficient and effective administration.
The post holder will carry out a range of administrative duties, including:
- Front of house duties, e.g., handling telephone calls and welcoming visitors;
- Maintaining a range of pupil information, e.g., using Arbor and other databases;
- Managing and processing payments from parents through Arbor.
- Using a range of online systems, e.g., for data transfer;
- Managing nursery and in-year admissions;
- Recording and managing pupil attendance data and contacting parents regarding pupils’ absence;
- Assisting with the administration of extra-curricular activities and other programmes;
- Completing and sharing information with external bodies
This role would suit somebody looking to gain skills in a school office environment.
The successful candidate must have:
- GCSE Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- ICT Level 1 or be willing to work towards this
- The skills to motivate, inspire and co-operate with their colleagues and children
- Ability to use their own initiative and have a positive attitude towards the school ethos as well as be adaptable in situations
- Excellent communication skills with children, staff, parents and the wider community
- A proven track record of good attendance
We also require the candidate to have excellent typing skills and strong written English skills.
