Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Wilmslow

Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position starting in February and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.

The weekly pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for psychology graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in an educational setting, particularly those considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or child development. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students: Work closely with students who require additional support, including those with SEND, SEMH needs, or learning difficulties, to help them engage with the curriculum.
  • One-to-One and Small Group Work: Provide targeted interventions to support students' academic progress and emotional well-being.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Support: Assist students in developing positive learning habits, resilience, and confidence in both academic and social settings.
  • Collaboration with Teachers: Work alongside teachers and support staff to create tailored learning plans that address individual student needs.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff to inform lesson planning and interventions.
  • Encouraging Engagement: Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
  • Assisting with Pastoral Support: Support students with emotional regulation strategies, promoting well-being and mental health awareness within the school.
