As Learning and Development Administrator, you will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative activities and will be the linchpin that keeps our learning initiatives run smoothly and efficiently.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be one of the primary points of contact for all activities relating to Learning & Development and will look after a variety of responsibilities ranging from managing shared mailboxes and maintaining key documents to organising training events and programmes and supporting the upkeep of the Learning Management System (LMS).

Strong communication and organisational skills are key to this role. The successful candidate will manage their workload effectively and collaborate seamlessly with team members.

The Learning & Development team communicate with colleagues across multiple sites across the UK and Ireland.

Our Corporate office is situated 5 minutes from Southwark station you will have easy access to the vibrant South Bank and local amenities, however this role will be a mixture of working in the corporate office, from home and attending other sites.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Providing administrative support for the Learning & Development team.
  • Act as first reference point of contact for all L&D enquiries.
  • Ownership of departmental mailboxes ensuring emails are responded to in a timely manner and escalated where appropriate.
  • Working independently on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and digital platforms.
  • Ensure that effective Learning and Development processes are developed, improved, and maintained.
  • Maintain and develop the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Undertake the preparation and circulation of course materials and collateral for related training purposes.
  • Providing administrative support for the Development programmes and workshops including organising and booking training venues, external suppliers, printing
  • Manage the training calendars.
  • Manage the compliance requirements and reporting for statutory/mandatory training.
  • Assist in the coordination of the evaluation process and collate feedback reports from the LMS.
  • Update and maintain Learning & Development intranet pages
  • Ensure that all Development records are maintained.
  • Get involved with ad-hoc projects.
  • Develop and manage reports on the LMS
  • Support with the transition of data from the old to new LMS
  • To undertake any other reasonable duty, when requested to do so by an appropriate manager.
  • Demonstrate on going competency against training plans and participate positively in CPD (continuous professional development) activities
  • Complete all statutory, mandatory and essential training within timeframes specified.

At Synnovis, we are currently shaping the future of pathology services by creating a world-leading Hub and Spoke pathology network with our NHS partners. A large part of this modernisation will involve moving 70% of our services to a purpose built, state of the art Hub laboratory in the heart of London.

Synnovis is a pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS, including sites, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to deliver and transform pathology services across South East London.

The partnership provides services to 1.7 million people living in South East London, as well as to hundreds of thousands of patients from outside the region who use local healthcare services.

The partnership provides diagnostics, testing and digital pathology for hospital trusts, GP services and other healthcare providers.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to good GCSE level in English, Mathematics, and IT
Desirable criteria
  • Business Admin NVQ level 3 or equivalent within a HR Dept

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working in an administrative role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the heath sector
  • Experience within a Learning and Development or HR environment

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Must have strong demonstrable skills using Microsoft packages (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and digital platforms)
  • Experience of co-ordinating different processes and managing priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with Learning Management Systems
  • Previous experience of working with confidential, sensitive data
