We exist to bring new medicines to life. What if your IT System Administrator expertise could help us accelerate that journey?

FORTREA IN LEEDS - WHERE MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGHS BEGIN

At Fortrea, our world-class Clinical Research Unit in Leeds sits at the heart of innovation. Just a short 7-minute walk from the train station, this 65,000 ft², 100-bed facility is a cornerstone of our global operations. Dedicated to Early Clinical Research, it’s where life-saving medicines begin their journey.

As we expand and evolve, we´re introducing a new team structure -creating space for our very first IT System Administrator to ensure integrity, security and efficient operation of our systems and databases.
  • Full-time, clinic-based job in Drapers Yard, Leeds.
  • Minimal out-of-work hours may be required (emergencies only).

WHYTHIS JOB MATTERS

Everything we do is to answer one critical question: will this new medicine be safe?

The data we collect -whether it´s a blood sample for drug level analysis or an ECG- ends up in a drug´s label. That makes your role pivotal. From communicating with users and vendors to ensure all systems can be used appropriately, troubleshooting any issues that arise with the applications or writing and managing SOPs for system use, your work will ensure the data we produce is trustworthy and secure.

Failure is not an option -because lives depend on getting this right.

WHAT YOU´LL BE DOING DAY-TO-DAY:

System administration and maintenance:

  • Maintain system user logins, passwords, privileges, system integrity and security
  • Monitor system performance and implement backup/recovery procedures

Documentation Management:

  • Manage and coordinate documentation processes related to systems and serve as point of contact for controlled documents.

Troubleshooting & support:

  • Identify and resolve hardware and operating system issues.
  • Run reports for users, client audits and regulatory inspections.

Training:

  • Maintain Core Training Matrices.
  • Deliver internal training on system procedures

Communication:

  • Keep teams & users informed on changes, updates and issues
  • Serve as point of contact between users and vendors.

Vendor & Upgrade Coordination:

  • Coordinate system upgrades with IT staff, end users and vendors

WHAT YOU´LL BRING

You have experience working independently.

Proven experience in an IT System Administrator or IT helpdesk/support role, troubleshooting IT system issues.
  • Ideally, you have gained that expertise within a healthcare regulated environment, such as a CRO, Clinical Research Unit, Biopharma, hospital or clinical setting.

Two things are crucial:

  • Experience managing SOPs and documentation requirements, as well as updates tracking.
  • You are a people´s person and are comfortable facilitating conversations with a variety of teams (physicians, nurses, pharmacy, Lab, research techs...) so everyone knows what is expected of them.
While experience with SharePoint, ClinSpark, Metasys, Rees, TMS, Siemens, Keyscan, Veeva or Genetec is a plus, it´s your adaptability and capacity to learn quickly that will set you apart. You feel comfortable learning new IT applications and have worked with a variety of them previously.

We´ll train you on the rest.

Ability to live and work in the UK (we cannot sponsor for this role)

Apply now and be part of something extraordinary

At Fortrea, you´ll see the impact of your work everyday -and when a drug you've worked on is approved, you'll know you played a part in changing lives across the world.
