Teacher of English and Media Studies
PERMANENT – FULL TIME
Start date Summer term 2025 or September 2025
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding classroom practitioner - someone enthusiastic, innovative and engaging - who will be a committed addition to our already highly successful team. The successful candidate will teach English and Media Studies as part of the Communications Faculty.
Key responsibilities:
- Teach English at KS3 and KS4 and Media at KS4 and/or 5.
- Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to students in English and Media and contribute to the development of Media Studies at KS4 and/or 5.
- Monitor and support the overall progress of students.
- Enhance the learning experience of students within and beyond the curriculum and provide students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
- To provide students with opportunities for personal and academic growth and increase students’ cultural capital.
- Support and maintain collaborative relationships within the faculty, and with students, parents and external professionals.
- The successful candidate must hold QTS (or equivalent), a relevant honours degree and must meet the criteria in the Job description.
Our last Ofsted inspection judged the academy to be good in all categories and for overall effectiveness, with some excellent feedback across all subjects and our pastoral care.
