This role provides essential administrative support within the OGN Care Group.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional Clerical Officer with strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills.

The ideal candidate will be methodical, organised, flexible, and uphold the Trust’s PROUD values. A good understanding of patient confidentiality and administrative experience is required, along with effective computer skills. Experience with hospital computer systems is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To prepare hospital medical records to a high quality standard for clinicians to refer to and record in during Antenatal, Feto-Maternal Unit and Day care clinic sessions.

To act as the main receptionist during a clinic session, ensuring patients enjoy an excellent experience.

To record accurately in the Patient Administration System (PAS), Radiology Information system (CRIS) and Viewpoint each patient’s arrival, departure, future care plan, appointments and scans. In addition ensure all clinical coding is completed.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
  • EDL

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience of working in a public facing role.
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience within the NHS

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
  • Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
  • Ability to prioritise and work to strict/conflicting deadlines
  • On-going commitment to personal development

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
  • Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software
