We are recruiting for a Business Support Officer to working within our Cyber Operations function.
Cyber Operations sits within NHS England's Transformation Directorate. Cyber Operations purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England’s cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient.
You will join the Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU) sub-team within Cyber Operations. The CDU support team provides business support to the four functional teams with recruitment; resourcing; financial & budgetary management; business planning; compliance; data quality and Executive PA Support.
Main duties of the job
As a Business Support Officer within the CDU you will be responsible for :-- Mailbox management via Service Now, including triaging all requests as per the agreed process, triage matrix and assigning appropriately.
- Creating management information and reports.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and tracking spend of activities; ensuring that appropriate justification exists, and that authorisation has been granted.
- Tracking business cases, raising purchase orders and ensuring invoices are paid on time.
- Supporting recruitment activities, liaise with other functions to support requirements.
- Acting as a key member of the team to support effective communication and stakeholder management both internally and externally.
- Providing Business Management Support to Directors and Associate directors including diary and mailbox management.
- Ad-hoc business support across cyber operations and to functional teams as required.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

All NHS England Cyber Security personnel must hold Security Clearance level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, SC clearances require 5 years continuous UK residency. In certain cases, this can be reduced to three years continuous UK residency, with additional overseas checks for the previous two years.Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered.

Essential criteria- Act as a contact point for teams, dealing with and responding effectively to complex queries from stakeholders and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and autonomously.
- Experience of supporting the management of activities, gathering information, updating documentation and undertaking enquiries as necessary.
- Work closely with other team members to improve current practices and processes to achieve best possible outcomes.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Supply relevant information required for effective financial management. Support the Head of Department and teams by raising purchase orders and checking invoices for payment.
- Communicate information and issues, including briefings and reports to managers and project leads as appropriate.
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area such as senior administration.
