General Management:
  • In the absence of the Care Manager, to take responsibility for the day to day running of the home,working with a team leader as a united team of management.
  • To be responsible for the planning, directing and the delivery of high-quality person-centred care.
  • To ensure that the care team’s skill and knowledge levels can meet the changing needs of the of people who use our service.
  • To assist the Care Manager in producing and maintaining the duty rota for all disciplines of staff
  • To have knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008, CQC regulations including the fundamental standards and any other necessary legislation allied to Care Homes.
  • Act as a role model for other staff.
  • Identify areas of risk and poor quality and address these through communication with the Home Manager.
  • To ensure that people who use our service are protected from harm and abuse and that Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policies and Procedures are actively always promoted and adhered to.
  • Assist the Care Manager to deal promptly with any concerns and complaints.
  • Use effective prioritisation, problem solving and delegation skills to manage time effectively.
  • To take part in the on-call rota covering weekends, evenings, and bank holidays on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the recruitment process for new staff.
  • Assist with regular staff and resident/relative meetings.
  • Encourage a co-operative and helpful attitude between staff members.
Main Roles and Responsibilities.
  • Champion independence and personal choice for the people who use our service.
  • To assist the Care Manager in applying for Deprivation of Liberty Authorisations.
  • Promote people’s equity, diversity, and rights through ensuring that your own and others practice is in the best interest of our residents.
  • To assist the Care Manager with ensuring that all people who want to use our service are suitably assessed prior to admission.
  • Oversee the development of person-centred care and assist the home manager in producing, maintaining, and updating care plans, attend and lead reviews.
  • Maintain and provide accurate records, reports and statistical information as required.
  • In conjunction with the Medication Manager ensure that all pharmaceutical supplies are ordered and stored in accordance with our agreed policy.
  • Administer medication to people who use our service in accordance with policy and procedure and ensure all other staff who administer medication are fully trained to do so safely and effectively.
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, you will assist in the induction of all new staff.
  • Assist with the recruitment process for new staff.
  • Assist with regular staff and resident/relative meetings.
  • Encourage a co-operative and helpful attitude between staff members.
  • Undertake other duties as required in the absence of the Manager.
  1. 3 days work on floor remaining hours will be supernumerary audits. Supervisions etc

Communication:

  • To communicate a clear sense of direction and leadership, which staff and residents understand and can relate to.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate channels and styles of communication to meet the needs of everyone who uses our service, including residents and their relatives.
  • To maintain excellent lines of communication with allied health professionals, the multidisciplinary team, and outside agencies.
  • Maintain links with doctors, social workers, local hospitals, and the local community.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR regulations.
  • In conjunction with the Training Manager, you will assist in the induction of all new staff.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote, monitor, and maintain best practice in health and safety and security. Participate in risk assessments, health and safety and infection control audits.
  • Report, record and respond to any hazards or potential hazards.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the Prevention and Control of Infection Policies and Procedures for the Home in conjunction with the Home Manager.
  • Work in conjunction with the maintenance team to ensure the home is well maintained and all fire regulations are complied with.
Education/Training:
  • Assist in ensuring that the educational/training needs of all staff are identified and met.
  • Assist in the provision and delivery of training, as necessary.
  • Assist in supervised practice and appraisals for all disciplines of staff in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Identify your own professional development and training needs and work towards a recognised management qualification if not already achieved.
This job description is not exhaustive and it is likely that duties may have to be altered from time to time in order meet the needs of the home and the residents that live there.

we are looking for someone who has been a team leader or a deputy before confident and have ability to lead team , work with external agency and understand the importance of confidentiality.NVQ level 3 and above but must have proven experience of leadership and health care environment.

Requirements: Certificate of Higher Education, Level3/ 4 NVQ in Health & Social Care preferred.
Senior care: 3 years’ experience required.
Work authorisation: United Kingdom - essential
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
