Job Description
The International Account Manager - Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in expanding the global reach of the business and its private label brands. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities in international markets, driving profitable sales growth, and fostering strong, long-term relationships with distributors and key accounts.
Job Purpose / Objectives:
- Develop new market opportunities: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in assigned international markets, conducting thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and potential for growth.
- Drive profitable sales growth: Achieve ambitious sales targets by effectively presenting and promoting the brand and private label products to potential distributors and key accounts, negotiating favourable terms, and securing profitable deals.
- Build and nurture client relationships: Establish strong, long-term relationships with international clients based on trust, open communication, and mutual success. Provide ongoing support, address concerns, and proactively seek opportunities to expand partnerships.
- Champion brand consistency: Ensure consistent brand representation and messaging across all international markets, aligning with global brand guidelines and objectives to maintain a cohesive brand identity.
- Contribute to market insights: Gather and share valuable market intelligence, including competitor activities, customer preferences, and emerging trends, to inform product development, marketing strategies, and overall business decisions.
The Successful Applicant
The Successful International Account Manager - Sporting Goods:
- Proven experience in international sales, ideally in consumer goods, outdoor/lifestyle, or sporting industries.
- Experience working with international distributors.
- Strong business development and negotiation skills.
- Strong account management track record
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex account relationships.
- Culturally aware with excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable with international travel.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
What's on Offer
The Successful International Account Manager - Sporting Goods:
- £40,000 - £50,000 per annum base salary
- Uncapped commission, circa £15k - £25k is realistic
