The purpose of the Operation Centre team is to ensure that the organisation and NHS funded organisations within England are prepared to appropriately and efficiently respond to and recover from all business continuity, critical, major incidents and significant operational challenges and events, thus ensuring the continued delivery of healthcare at all times remains focused on the wellbeing of the patient and the population.

The Team works across the Midlands region, interacting closely with the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and NHS England and NHS Improvement Regional colleagues, and multi-agency partners, at strategic, level, to ensure a coordinated response.

The Team manages and delivers the national on-call out of hours function to enable the coordinated response to major incidents and emergencies. The Team responds to ad hoc events related to wider NHS resilience above and beyond the typical major incident scenarios.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Midlands region to support the work of the Operations Centre team in delivering the operational implementation of national policies; and development of long-term business plans for major Operational requirements.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.

  • operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and
proactively engage with key ROC stakeholders.
  • Support the Regional Operations centre team, integrating systems and managing effective working relationships with the appropriate
stakeholders.
  • Support the Operations centre team in sensitive and political situations, delivering difficult messages where required to high-level
audiences.
  • Support the delivery and maintenance of the regional Operation centre function and a robust reporting and analytical service that is responsive to local and regional requirements.
