Trade Marketing Executive
Overview:
The Trade Marketing Executive role at Califia Farms is an exciting and diverse role reporting to the Senior Brand Manager. We’re looking for a creative, organised and analytical individual that is keen to develop their career within FMCG marketing, working on an innovative challenger brand ready to pursue its next stage of growth across multiple sale channels.
This person will work across the commercial functions of the business to deliver shopper marketing activations within the grocery sales channel that encourage consideration and trial, and trade / brand activation initiatives in the away-from-home channel (which comprises coffee shops, wholesalers & distributors and foodservice customers) that build advocacy and demand for our product.
This is an exciting opportunity for a marketer with 1-2 years’ experience (which could be partly achieved through internships, apprenticeships or university placements) who is ready to learn, develop and gain exposure to multiple functions in an international FMCG business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning & execution of shopper marketing plans within the grocery channel. This involves planning and booking media or POS through retailer media partners aligned to business priorities, briefing and delivering creative assets and tracking and evaluating investment to maximize commercial returns and ensure executional compliance.
- Support Away-From-Home channel growth through execution of marketing support initiatives with priority customers, delivery of lead generation and new business initiatives, and through ownership of our presence at tradeshows and coffee festivals.
- Support with monthly in-market performance tracking by extracting category data, creating reports and supporting with monthly business reviews.
- Support with budget management through reviewing invoices and maintaining the A&P budget tracker.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone with 1-2 years’ experience working in a marketing role. Our ideal candidate will either come specifically from a trade or shopper marketing background, or a more generalist background where shopper or trade marketing formed a meaningful part of their role.Either way, they will have experience of executing shopper or trade marketing initiatives within the UK grocery channel and/or the away-from-home channel.

- Creative and full of ideas – you’ll be dynamic, creative and can spot a great creative idea or opportunity to engage with our consumers or customers in new ways.
- Good attention to detail, organized, and able to manage time and workload effectively.
- Numerically savvy – comfortable analyzing and reporting on data.
- Able to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Happy to get ‘hands on’ and get involved with a wide range of projects.
- A desire to develop to learn new things and develop a career in marketing
- University degree, apprenticeship or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years’ of professional marketing experience with exposure to trade or shopper marketing (ideally FMCG).
- Experience in writing briefs for third parties (agencies, designers or internal creative teams) for the creation of creative assets.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
- Ideally Full Driving license
- Hybrid working between office and home. Up to 3 days a week in Central London office.
- Occasional evening / weekend working required to support at events and meetings – planned with plenty of notice, and we support flexible working to accommodate this.
