An opportunity has arisen to join our team at IpswichHospital
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals to join our friendly and dynamic team within the Emergency Department at Ipswich Hospital, part of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.- Flexible and part time working will be actively supported. As will those looking to have a portfolio job plan or a shared job plan with a joint specialities. We will develop a bespoke job plan with you and will arrange for you to be mentored to ensure your successful integration into our team and the Trust as a whole.
Applicants will have completed CCT or equivalent (CESR) and must be on the Specialist Register.
CLINICAL
Clinical duties will be shared on a WTE basis with the present Consultants and will include all the normal duties expected in any major Emergency Department in the United Kingdom
The clinical workload will be shared equally among the consultants. The precise allocation of session time will be agreed by mutual consent.
Daytime cover is with an EPIC consultant and an additional Consultant covering Ambulatory care.
There will be opportunities to explore development of dual roles such as Pre-Hospital, Intensive Care Medicine, Paediatrics, Ultrasound, or Simulation depending on the skills and interests of the applicant

General
To organise and administer a 24-hour service for emergency medical presentations based on resuscitation, assessment and initial treatment.
On call, duties will be shared with the existing Consultants. Current job plans are annualised to include annual and study leave flexibly.
The day-to-day management of the department and the available resources will be the responsibility of the duty Consultant. Resources should be used effectively to deliver the needs of the local population. Development of the Emergency Service will be in line with the policies of the Trust, Suffolk PCT and the Strategic Health Authority
