Strategy and Partnerships Manager
To help build effective working relationships and local partnerships that drive the delivery of new ways of working across the Berkshire West Place, the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care System (BOB ICS), and the wider Thames Valley and South East region.
To develop collaborative partnerships across the Thames Valley and provide a key strategic link between external partners and internal departments in establishing a strategic alliance in association with a wide range of organisations, academic and clinical partners with a view to delivering on Our Strategy: Improving Together.
JOB PURPOSE: The Strategy and Partnerships Manager will contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts overarching sister strategies: our Clinical Services Strategy and our Trust Strategy. The post holder will also strengthen our capacity in partnership working across our local place, system and further afield proactively building relationships, supporting wider strategic developments, and playing an active role in our place and ICS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to the responsibilities summarised under Job Purpose: Strategy Development, Strategic Planning and Partnerships The primary role is to support the realisation of the Trusts strategy and the development and implementation of the sub-strategies that feed into this.
This will require the post holder to: Support strategic planning for RBFT as it engages at local, regional and national levels across Integrated Care Boards, NHS bodies, Local Authorities and other provider organisations to deliver its strategy Deliver analyses, insights, and recommendations to help Trust leaders and partners develop strategic direction, objectives, and annual priorities.
This may include, but is not limited to, analysis of options including strategic alliances, partnerships, clinical service investment/disinvestment options and exploration of major technological change opportunities. Understand and interpret the national agenda, changes in the NHS and Local Authorities, and best practice from elsewhere to feed these into the Trusts work to execute its strategy.
Track progress of the organisation in delivering on its vision. Keep abreast of NHS new models of care and their potential application in the Trusts current and potential services. Bring understanding of the NHS Long Term Plan, Operational Planning Guidance and other national, regional and local policy, to apply to opportunities for transformation and new service configuration.
Support the development and delivery of a strategic planning process and framework, generating an organisational and business strategy reflecting the Trusts vision, values, capabilities and strengths, involving appropriate internal and external stakeholders in the process.
Support the Associate Director of Strategy and Performance in the development of service planning and implementation of the Clinical Services Strategy, working in tandem with the Medical Director and Care Groups. Work collaboratively in ensuring the Trusts improvement and transformation programmes align with the Trusts strategic ambitions.
Establishing strong working relationships with other service providers in primary, secondary, private and voluntary sectors to create shared or complementary approaches to service delivery. Work with various data sources and data sets across the NHS and externally to develop analyses supporting the formulation and execution of strategy Assist Trust leadership in translating strategy into operational plans that are aligned with activity, workforce and financial planning, working closely with senior colleagues across both operational and corporate departments.
Support work to ensure these plans deliver Trust, local and national targets, liaising with internal parties and external stakeholders. Leadership Model the leadership behaviours of delivering to brief, on time, to target and within available resources.Contribute to culture of collaborative delivery. Ensure a culture of continuous challenge exists, ensuring that progressive solutions, which take into account models of best practice, are incorporated into change. Demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities which are consistent with the Trusts vision, values and behavioural expectations.
Engage with staff across the organisation to contribute to the development of the strategy and understand their role in delivering the future vision. Represent the Trust, and the Strategy and Partnerships Team, professionally in formal and informal communications.
These are likely to be ranging from Executive to junior level. Communications will be in written and verbal form. Work alongside the Communications Team to ensure that the engagement and communication priorities and activities are effective and align with the strategic and corporate objectives of the Trust.
Business Development & Support Act as a point of contact for the Trusts business development activities in support of the Care Groups, undertaking appropriate market research, seeking out and evaluating opportunities for the expansion of existing services, and the development of new service or organisational initiatives.
These will include opportunities for the development of primary care/integrated care collaborations and commercial possibilities. Develop market intelligence and business opportunities with other partners as required Perform robust market assessments as needed, monitoring to ensure that all key opportunities and threats are picked up and managed appropriately.
