The Governors of St Stephen’s Kearsley Moor C E School are looking to appoint an Administrative Assistant with effect from 6th January 2025.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Salary: Grade D pt 6 pt 11 (Actual salary £19,614 - £21,326)
Hours: 35 hrs per week (08.30 16.00)

Contract: Permanent, Term Time + 5 days

This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working, dedicated and professional person to join our happy and successful Church of England Primary School. In June 2023 the school was graded GOOD by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact and be the face of St Stephen’s. They

will have significant experience of working in an administrative support environment and in the preparation of confidential documentation. The position is based in on our main School Reception, welcoming visitors to the school, answering telephone and face to face enquiries and directing appropriately.

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant who:

  • Is reliable, conscientious and approachable
  • Under the direction of senior staff, provide administration, organisational and financial support to the school.
  • To undertake general financial administration
  • To maintain school stock and supplies.
  • Organise school trips and events.
  • Treasurer to PTA
  • To appreciate and support the role of other professionals and whole school duties as required.
  • To undertake general administration duties e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, and completing routine forms.
  • To word process school documentation, including the production of letters, reports and schedules.
  • To accurately input information to databases/ spreadsheets and maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.
  • To collate registers and complete returns as required by the DfE and LA.
  • To undertake basic bookkeeping, collect monies and accurately record and balance funds. Examples may include the school fund, petty cash, school trips/events, photographs, school meals
  • To welcome visitors to the school, ensuring that health and safety and safeguarding procedures are followed, including signing visitors in/out, issuing badges and escorting visitors as required.
  • To respond to general day-to-day queries from staff, pupils, parents and external visitors.
  • To make arrangements for external visitors, for example the school nurse, photographer and parents, in liaison with the Headteacher/Senior Staff.
  • To undertake pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff, in accordance with school procedure.
  • To assist with other aspects of general administration within school.
  • To make a positive contribution to the school, supporting and promoting its ethos, aims and inputting to the development/improvement plan.
  • Will contribute to the Christian ethos of the school
