As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the lead instructors to help children and young people engage with outdoor activities. You'll assist with the delivery of curriculum-linked learning, support learners with diverse needs, and help create an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outdoor Education Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support learners in a variety of outdoor educational settings.
The Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the lead instructors to help children and young people engage with outdoor activities. You'll assist with the delivery of curriculum-linked learning, support learners with diverse needs, and help create an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:- Assist the lead instructors in planning and delivering outdoor activities such as bushcraft, team-building exercises, environmental education, and outdoor sports.
- Provide one-to-one and group support to children and young people with diverse learning needs, helping them to fully participate in activities.
- Help manage safety protocols during activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all learners.
- Encourage positive social interaction and emotional development through outdoor learning experiences.
- Contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and ensure that all students feel valued and included.
- Support with classroom-based learning, where required, to link outdoor experiences with academic goals.
- A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to outdoor learning and education.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (experience in an educational or youth work setting is desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the lead instructor.
- A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude.
- A good level of physical fitness, as the role will involve outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
- Relevant qualifications in outdoor education, child development, or special educational needs.
- First Aid qualification or a willingness to undertake training.
- Knowledge of the local area and its natural environment.
