National children's charity are seeking an experienced strategic and operational HR
Manager. This dynamic standalone role will be integral to the organisation's

work environment, taking a key role in employment law compliance and aligning business goals.

Your new role

You will be responsible for:
  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Designing, revising, and enforcing company policies to ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
  • Managing the HR system to ensure data integrity, maintaining employee records in compliance with GDPR.
  • Monitoring and analysing HR metrics to improve organisational effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing and selection.
  • Managing the employee onboarding experience, including reference and DBS checks and pre-employment health questionnaires.
  • Administration of contracts and employee changes to terms and conditions of employment documentation.
  • Implementing and overseeing talent retention strategies, performance management systems, and succession planning.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for employee enquiries, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Coaching and advising line managers on people issues within their teams, from probation to sickness absence to performance.
  • Fostering a culture of open communication and continuous feedback.
  • Developing and executing employee engagement initiatives, including team-building activities and recognition programs.
  • Assessing training needs and designing programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
  • Identifying training needs and source training solutions, monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Working with Finance to contribute to payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate compensation.
  • Managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Conducting periodic benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment law, workplace safety regulations, and ethical standards.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar role.
  • Certification in HR (e.g. CIPD).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to oversee sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Charity experience preferred but not essential.
What you'll get in return
Flexible working options are available.

You will receive an annual salary of between £45,000 - £50,000 depending on previous experience.
