We are recruiting for a Theatre Porter who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patient

You will be joining our team in Day Surgery (DSU) at Lister Hospital. Our DSU provides care to patients coming in for day case surgery.

In this role you will support the nursing staff with the transfer of patients and equipment to/from DSU as instructed by the Manager or nurse in charge.

This role will be ideal for someone would good eye for detail and great customer service skills.

Main duties of the job

As a Theatre porter for DSU your main day to day responsibilities will be to undertake the transportation of patients and equipment to and from the Unit to other clinical areas within the hospital.

You will collect and transport medical devices, pathology specimens, x-rays and from pharmacy, as well as supplies, parcels, letters, and ad-hoc small items.

In this role you will also assist with sorting and stocking of stores as well as carrying out ancillary duties of a general nature such as furniture removals, transfer of equipment to other areas of the hospital. This will include the assembly and basic maintenance of equipment.

You will also deal with general enquires from staff, patients, visitors, and members of the general public in a helpful and courteous manner.

  • Basic general education – English & Maths
