Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an organised individual to join our well established Economic and Development Team who are responsible for delivering employment and skills activities to support district residents and businesses.
This is a great time to join us, with Bassetlaw being the future home of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority’s prototype fusion energy plant, a nationally significant project that will bring unprecedented levels of investment into the area.The location of one of three designated site for the East Midlands Investment Zone that will focus on advanced manufacturing and green industries. Employment and skills are going to be key conduit to secure related inward investment and to capitalise on opportunities for district residents and businesses.
Our new Vision2040, and accompanying Council Plan, builds on the strategic priority of being a green and sustainable district with Economic Development priorities featuring heavily in the Identity, Skills, Business and Environment strategic pillars.
As part of your role, you will provide an effective and efficient administrative support to the Employment and Skills Manager to deliver the strategic priorities of the North Notts Skills and Employment Board and skills priorities outlined in Vision 2040.This is a varied role which will provide the opportunity to be involved in the development and delivery of employment and skills events and programmes and to work with a range of stakeholder partners, residents, and businesses.
