This role is perfect for anyone who is eager to advance their career and take on a whole school leadership position.

Are you passionate about leading change within your school and department?

As the Associate Assistant Principal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that student progress goes beyond the boundaries of their assigned teachers. In addition to your responsibilities, we are seeking someone who possesses a positive outlook, a forward-thinking mindset, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Your ability to motivate and develop the team will be instrumental in achieving outstanding results.

We are looking for a high achiever who consistently sets and maintains high expectations to drive exceptional outcomes.

We are focused on further building on the excellent reputation Broadlands has within the community and working towards further enhancing the performance of the school following its strong OFSTED inspection in 2023.
A brand new post, ready for you to put your stamp on it.

The creation of the Associate Assistant Principal role serves to underpin the future growth of the school, affording increased leadership capacity and greater flexibility as we look to grow the school. It offers excellent career progression and an exciting opportunity for staff wishing to develop their leadership careers yet retain a strong subject development focus.

We are excited to work with prospective candidates and match key aspects of whole school responsibility to those areas where they have an interest and/or strengths in.
If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge and make a significant impact on the lives of students, we encourage you to apply. Join us on this rewarding journey and let's shape the future together!

At Broadlands Academy, our vision is to inspire our young people to set themselves aspirational goals based on their unique skills, talents and dreams.

As a small 11-16 secondary school that has been serving its local community since 1935, we cultivate a ‘family feel’ and sense of belonging among our students, and believe that nurture is essential for academic, personal and social success. We are an inclusive community, which welcomes and celebrates students of all backgrounds and starting points, and which promotes diversity and fairness.

As well as cherishing and supporting our students, we believe in challenging them to achieve excellence in everything that they do. We have the highest of expectations of behaviour, and pledge that every classroom in our school will be a disruption-free learning environment.
Similarly, we have aspirational academic goals for every student, and do not believe in placing a ceiling on what any young person can achieve. For this reason, our classes in Years 7, 8 and 9 are taught in mixed performance groupings, and we aim to challenge every student in every lesson.

Where students need additional or different tools to reach our aspirational aims, these are provided by our expert teachers, who benefit from the guidance of our excellent SEN and pastoral teams. Our Key Stage 4 results in 2022 show significant improvement from the last set of externally marked examinations in 2019, both in terms of attainment and progress.

At Broadlands, we recognise the importance of building young people’s character as well as their academic success. We run a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs, and aim to enhance and deepen our students’ learning experiences with educational and cultural visits where possible.

Our excellent Careers advice and strong links with employers and post-16 providers mean that we are able to prepare our students fully for their chosen pathways.
